GAGNON, Herbert L. Of Wrentham, formerly of Sharon, passed peacefully on June 20 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Raymond) of 57 years. Devoted father of Richard W. of Wrentham, Jonathan P. and his fiancee Lori of N. Attleboro, Jeffrey R. and his wife Donna of Sharon and his dear friend Patricia Houlihan. Cherished brother of the late Doris Brothers and Pearl Briggs. Loving "Grampie" of Monica, Nathan, Amy and Matthew, and also survived by many close friends. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 at the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common St., WALPOLE, relatives and friends invited. Funeral Service and interment will be private at families request. Please in lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to The Sharon Historical Society. Herb was a WW II Military Police Army Veteran and a life time Mason. Life member of Blue Hill Lodge, AF&AM, Canton, MA. He was a life member of Aleppo Shriners, Boston, Ma.,Life member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Boston. He also was a Shriner's International Life Member, Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, Life member as well as Marilyn Life Member, a graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business College, Boston, MA, graduated magnum cum laude. He also was past president of Sharon Historical Society, past member of the Sharon Historical Commission, member of the First Congregational Church of Sharon, past Deacon. He worked at New England Life for 46 years. His latest position was Assistant General Agent.. He was a life member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Reliance Lodge, Walpole, No 137IOOF. He graduated from Sharon High School, Class of 1937 and a member of the Waltham Historical Society, Life Member.
