Ellen McQuarrie

On Saturday, September 26, 2020 Ellen Theresa (Kelly) McQuarrie, loving wife of the late Donald (Don) George McQuarrie and mother to Donald and his wife Holly of Clinton, CT and Kelly and her husband Dan of Townsend, MA, passed peacefully at the age of 79.
As a fitting tribute to their enduring love, Ellen was reunited with Don on what would have been their 56th wedding anniversary.
Ellen was born and raised in Hyde Park and was a proud graduate of the Hyde Park High School class of 1959.  She is the loving daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Hernon) Kelly and was predeceased by her twin brother Frank, and her beloved sisters, Maureen and Annette.   Saturdays spent shopping were never the same without Maureen and Annette.
Ellen lived a happy life and took great joy in the coming and goings of her five grandchildren, Falyn, Aryn, Finneas, Declan and Jillian.  As she was able Ellen would support her grandchildren by being a frequent fan at the side of a field or rink.  As the grandchildren grew and Ellen explored the digital world, her support frequently came via Venmo.  
Ellen always enjoyed travel and over the course of her life with Don, they upgraded from weekends at Santa's Village to cruises to Alaska and a trip to her parents´ ancestral home, Ireland.  Known for her quick smile, charm and love of Friday night dinners with friends, Ellen considered many of you to be dear friends.  Ellen's love of real estate and home design were fulfilled during a career in real estate appraising that lasted over 30 years.  Donations in Ellen's memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
