Kimberly Butters Obituary

Kimberly Janice Butters passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Norwood, MA on July 13, 1984 to her proud parents, the late David Joseph Butters of Norwood MA and Karen Patricia Butters (O’Neil) of Roslindale MA.  She leaves behind the loves of her life, her three young boys, Maverick, Mason and David.  They were her pride and joy and she often referred to them as her biggest and best accomplishments of her life.   She also leaves behind her fiance and high school sweetheart, Derek Lightbody of Walpole, MA whom she loved dearly.  She also leaves behind her five siblings whom she cherished; Stephen Butters of Norwood MA, Sherry Sherman and husband Doug of Plymouth MA, Crystal Masse and husband Jeffrey of Franklin MA, Darlene Foster and husband James of Plymouth MA and Sean Butters of Norwood MA.

Kimberly graduated from Walpole High School class of 2002 and achieved her Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Mass Bay Community College. Growing up she enjoyed swim team, basketball and softball which her beloved and dedicated dad coached. Her love for her children, family, fiancé and friends knew no bounds and if any of them needed anything she would be there in a moments notice no matter what time, distance or circumstance.

Kimberly had a smile that lit up the room, a contagious laugh and the sweetest most friendly disposition that always made everyone she encountered feel like a friend.  It didn’t matter if it was someone she saw occasionally, an old friend she hadn’t seen in years, an employee at the local grocery store, or a complete stranger she always made an effort to make conversation, take an interest in their life and leave them feeling better than how she found them.  She lived to the fullest in her short thirty-nine years of life; Never one to turn down a trip to the beach, a night of karaoke, a paint night adventure with her mom who was without a doubt her best friend, a laughter filled game of scrabble or a Golden Girls marathon.  Her soul emanated kindness, loyalty and love and this world without a doubt is a little dimmer without her in it, however each and every person lucky enough to have known her, are undeniable better and happier people for it.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Go Fund Me Fundraiser that has been organized to support the education and needs of her three children.
