Roger Troiani Obituary

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Roger F. Troiani. He was 76 years old and passed very early Christmas morning at 1:41 a.m. just before his next birthday on January 20th. He had recently been having breathing problems and was experiencing much fatigue, in the end his heart had failed.

Roger lead an incredibly successful, fulfilled life in which our family and many others held the utmost respect. He humbly made a difference in many people’s lives, especially the ones closest to him. In some shape or form, he has unselfishly supported and watched over his family, friends, co-workers and his community. From a very early age, it was ingrained in Roger the value of hard work. This experience, even after many failures, instilled a self-taught, creative, business and personal moral fiber one can only admire. Roger had a fire within, always pushing the envelope to continually grow and expand. Starting at 13, he was working brutal hours, sheltered by an old bus at a single pump service station a few doors away from his home in Readville, Hyde Park. At 18, he decided to take a huge risk and purchased the rights to manage the service station. From that point forward, after an extraordinary 57 plus years, he successfully grew and expanded the business to what we see at the corner of Wolcott Square today. He loved his home town of Readville and grew to be a leader of that community. He met the love of his life, Judith in 1965. They were married in 1967, and with their children and grandchildren, held their love for each other for 53 years. He always found a way to attend family and community events and loved attending his kids sporting and school events. He loved Boston sports and was extremely passionate of his Red Sox and Patriots. There is a hole punched in our family, but we know Roger is saying, “Move forward, I taught you well!”… and he has.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Jessica Troiani; 1 sister, Phyllis (Troiani) O’Hara; 2 brothers, Kenneth and Donald P. Troiani. He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Troiani; 1 daughter, Teresa A. Troiani of Norwood, MA; 2 sons, Andrew (Fiancée Christine) J. Troiani of Maumee, OH and Matthew F. (Rosie) Troiani of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Angelina Dyer of Norwood, MA, Bridget A. Troiani of Toledo, OH, Isabella R. Troiani of Waterville, OH, and Anthony F., Ana R. and Arlene M. Troiani of Mount Pleasant, SC.

All services will be privately held on Thursday, December 31st, 2020 with a memorial mass and celebration of life to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital (StJude.org) in memory of Roger Troiani.
