William Seabrook was born on May 5th, 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He lived his early days on Washington Street just outside of Union Square, Somerville, with his parents William and Alice Seabrook and his younger brother Jack. Bill - as he was lovingly referred to by his friends and family - attended Cambridge Academy and was a graduate of Lexington High School. Bill attended St. Josephs College in Standish, Maine.  He then enlisted in the Army serving two years in Okinawa, Japan.

In 1966, Bill embarked on a 38-year career with the Polaroid Corporation. He initially started in the Chemical Operations division and then moved into a position as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist (EHS). After he retired from Polaroid, he began a second career at MIT where he became a valued member of the MIT EHS Office where his vast expertise in ventilation and asbestos abatement was of immense value to his colleagues and teammates. Bill was a wonderful and inspiring mentor to young EHS staff members not only providing technical advice, but reflecting on his many valuable life experiences.

Bill married Roberta Silvi in June of 1969 and they remained married for fifty-four years. As newlyweds, they moved to Foxboro Mass where they built a beautiful home and raised their two children, Brandon and Jared. Bill was a devoted husband and father. Over the years, he hosted many jam sessions and rehearsals for the boys and championed their careers in music. Bill also threw many lively poker games for his Polaroid friends as well as countless pool parties and family gatherings. Bill was an avid landscaper, taking immense pride in keeping his grounds in pristine shape. In 1998, Bill became a dedicated grandfather to his grandson, Isaac Seabrook, who he was immensely proud of. They shared a deep connection and he cherished their time together.

Bill was a zealous traveler. As a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, he spent a month backpacking through New Zealand’s expansive volcanic terrains and thermal lakes. He also spent time in Hawaii, Europe, and took several trips through the Caribbean -  always making new friends along the way.

Throughout his life, Bill had a profound connection with Cape Cod. He always made time for excursions to the Cape, where he would work on his cottage in Dennis Port. You could find him there on any given weekend holding court; grilling and hosting impromptu drinks while engaging in spirited conversations with his broad network of friends and neighbors.

Bill had a zest for life that was contagious and inspiring. He was loved, respected, and admired by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family alike.
